Identify which item the photographs show
A product page may show seller photographs, warehouse reference photographs or pictures of your own order. These do different jobs. Seller images describe the advertised design; a reference set shows another inspected item; your order’s photographs should correspond to the item received for you.
Match the order or item identifier, size, colour and quantity before inspecting details. A large number of reference images does not mean every size or version is pictured. Use the product-link checks if the title or selected option no longer matches what you intended to buy.
Understand the published inspection limits
GTBuy’s Notice for Purchase describes limits to professional inspection. For categories such as electrical appliances, branded goods, tickets, cards and models, its stated checks concern appearance and accessories; professional quality, authenticity or completeness cannot be established through those checks. Electrical goods are not powered on to test their operation.
The notice also says sealed CDs and collectible figures are inspected without removing their plastic packaging. That means an intact outer package is not confirmation of the contents. For clothing, shoes and accessories, photographs are useful evidence of visible details, not a test of comfort or long-term wear.
Inspect the details that could change your decision
| Product | Useful views or checks | What a photograph cannot establish |
|---|---|---|
| Sneakers | Both shoes, matching side views, toe and heel shape, soles, size labels and the requested measurement. | Comfort over time, durability or authenticity. |
| Clothing and padded jackets | Front and back, seams, fastenings, marks, labels and flat measurements. | Verified fibre content, warmth rating or shrinkage. |
| Bags and hats | Shape, lining, straps, closures, dimensions and included accessories. | Load capacity or long-term resistance to wear. |
| Perfume | Bottle size, label, cap, packaging and visible leakage. | Scent, concentration or the identity of the contents. |
Compare the same angle on both shoes or both sides of a garment. Lighting can change apparent colour, while a folded edge can hide a measurement. A clear extra view is more useful than guessing from a cropped thumbnail.
Make a measurement request precise
Choose the measurement that affects your decision: a trouser waist, hoodie chest or bag opening, for example. Describe the method and use centimetres. Compare it with the same measurement on something you own using the measurement guide.
Please photograph item [number], option [size/colour], from the front and back. Please show [area] close up and measure [dimension] in centimetres with the tape visible and the item laid flat.
GTBuy lists customised photos at CNY 1 each and customised videos at CNY 7 each, with video restricted to eligible products. These are optional services; confirm what is needed and the current charge. The fees guide keeps them separate from goods and freight.
Turn the evidence into a clear next step
- Correct option and acceptable visible details: keep the photo set and record your decision.
- Missing or ambiguous view: request the exact angle or measurement before packing.
- Wrong option or visible damage: save the relevant images and check return eligibility and timing promptly.
Inspection questions do not stop the warehouse storage clock. Keep that deadline visible while waiting for an answer, and confirm the final item rather than relying only on another order’s reference photos.
